Bozeman's Franks wins national lifting title

State weightlifting champion Kasey Franks won the 199-pound weight class at the National High School Coaches Association National High School Weightlifting Championships held Saturday at River Ridge High School in New Port Richey.

She bench pressed 205 pounds and clean-and-jerked 155 for a total of 360.

"It's amazing," Franks said. "For the first hour after the competition, I was just numb but now my blood's rushing and everything's pumping and my head's so big. It's so big now."
