Jacksonville: Going For World Series

CHIPLEY - Chipley lost against Marion County and was eliminated from the state Dixie Majors playoffs 13-10, Tuesday.
Chipley trailed 6-0 going into the sixth inning when momentum began to pick up. The Tigers repeatedly loaded the bases scored four runs to get back in the game.
Marion County held a 13-7 lead going into the seventh inning when the host Tigers picked up three more runs, but fell short to be eliminated from the playoffs.
Jacksonville beat Hernando, 3 to 0 Tuesday evening, leaving Marion County to face Jacksonville Wednesday.
In the pre-majors, Wahneta defeated Chipley, 12-2; and Marion County beat West Volusia, 16-0.
Wednesday’s pre-majors title game will be Wahneta against Marion County.

Jacksonville won against Marion County, 11-6, making them state champs of the Dixie Majors, July 16.

Marion County won against Hernando, 6-1.

The winners of the Dixie Majors and Pre-Majors will be going to the World Series, being held in Dyersberg, Tenn., July 26 - Aug. 1.
