Downtown Merchants news update

This is a reminding that the Downtown Chipley Merchants will be continuing the series of strategic planning workshops presented by Gary Clark from West Florida Electric Cooperative.
Anyone with an interest in the future of Downtown Chipley is invited to attend the workshops, which are being held at 827 Main Street (next door to Dollar General).

The June 10th meeting will feature specific objectives as well as short and long term goals.
The June 3rd meeting featured ‘SWOT’ (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) and the June 5th meeting featured vision and mission statements.

REMINDER:
If you would like your business on the www.downtownchipley.com web page please contact Trudee Wills at the Antique Mall, 638-2535 or cell 260-1151, or Todd Wilson at Phoenix Illusions 638-4006.

Value Add Card Program

The Value Add Card is a great way to attract new customers to your business and then recycle them back on a regular basis.

You simply offer your customers the ability to sign up for this FREE program and he fills out an information sheet with name, address, zip code and email address. In exchange for this information the customer receives a business-card sized ‘Value Add Card’.
The contact information is returned to the Downtown Merchants Association, and it will be compiled and returned to the business in a database that your business can then use to promote future special offers, sales and events through email, phone calls or direct mail (USPO).

Your information is kept confidential and will only be returned to your business.
The entire listing of information will also be sent to the Washington County Tourist Development Council, who will use the information to promote Downtown Chipley, along with all of Washington County.

Once the customer has their Value Add Card, they will receive something free, or an upgrade, or some ‘added value’ each time they do business with you and present their card.

This could be a free drink with a meal, a percentage off their purchase, a t-shirt- it doesn’t matter and you decide what you’d like to offer. The item can change over time and it does not have to be expensive or extravagant.
The concept is that your customer gets an added value for doing business with you, as a ‘regular and valued customer’ of your business.

Participating businesses will be given a small (8 ?” x 11”) placard to post in their window, door or inside their business. This placard tells the world that you are a participating business and will drive business to your establishment.
This placard logo (see the web site to view this logo and placard) might also be used in your print advertising, on your web site or any other place your customers might see it.

You can view the proposed Value Card and Window Placard here: http://downtownchipley.com/index%20NEWS%20menu.html

A list of participating businesses will be maintained on the www.DowntownChipley.com web site and published in other places over time.

Cost to participate in the Value Add Card program is $12.00 per merchant and we hope to have the program in place by the Watermelon Festival.
If you would like to be included call Trudee at the Antique Mall 638-2535 or cell 260-1151 or email downtownchipley@bellsouth.net.
